Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a security system that verifies a user’s identity by requiring multiple credentials. It is a critical component of identity and access management (IAM). Rather than just asking for a username and password, MFA requires other—additional—credentials, such as a code /action from the user’s smartphone and biometric recognition.
Simeio Authenticator app, even if someone manages to obtain your password, they wont be able to access your accounts without also having access to your smartphone to take the required action(Accept/Reject). This significantly enhances the security of your online accounts.
When you register your account, you link it to a mobile device you own. Afterward, whenever you try to log in to your account it sends a push auth request to the associated device for confirmation. you can accept or deny the auth request.
Push authentication is a mobile-centric authentication whereby the service provider sends the user a notification over the most secure available communication channel. The user responds to the challenge by acting to verify their identity and access the service.
Note: While we are building the app for a specific organization(a local government) as a business, the app itself is going to be available to the general public which that government is providing to the citizens of the state, and not restricted to only employees and partners of the organization.
